Course Description:

There are many aspects to creating and maintaining a safe environment in the dental office for both patients and team-members. Proper Infection Control in your office is so much more than just disinfecting operatories and maintaining your equipment.

The Infection Control course will guide your team through the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that are required (per OSHA) to ensure the elimination of potentially infectious materials and cross-contaminants that prevent positive patient outcomes and put the safety of your patients and team-members in jeopardy.

Educational Objectives:

At course completion, the attendee will be able to:

• Identify and eliminate biological risks via proper methods of infection control 
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the associated written safety programs 
• Recognize and demonstrate the proper procedures for disposal of medical waste and OPIM 
• Perform scheduled equipment testing and documentation per OSHA Standard 
• Maintain necessary sterilization, immunization, and training records per OSHA Standard Implement additional work practice controls to eliminate potentially hazardous outcomes 
• Create a culture of safety in the dental office
