Course Description:

Although lasers have been utilized in dentistry for several years, there are many aspects to their usage that remain misunderstood. During this introductory course, we will discuss the classifications of lasers, their respective uses, associated job hazards, safety protocols as well as best practices and how to appropriately utilize lasers in your dental practice.

Educational Objectives:

At course completion, the attendee will be able to:

• Understanding dental laser “classes” and their appropriate usage,
• Identification of proper safety measures in laser utilization,
• Understand and applying control measures per classification of laser “class” in use,
• Comprehension of safety guidelines and responsibilities of laser operation in the dental setting.
