Course Description: 

Healthcare workers are exposed to a variety of bloodborne pathogens on the job, including Heptitis B and C, as well as HIV. This training is required for personnel who are exposed to potentially infectious materials.

Smart Training's Bloodborne Pathogens training module educates employees about the risks bloodborne pathogens present and how to mitigate those risks. Bloodborne Pathogens will better prepare your team to control workplace bloodborne pathogen exposure and contamination.

Educational Objectives:

  • Recognize situations where pathogens are present
  • Understand the pathogen modes of transmission and routes of transmission
  • Apply methods of controlling infectious materials
  • Prepare for health hazards

  • Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Explain protocols for cleaning up accidents
  • Create safety labels to protect coworkers
