Course Description:

Most dentists know about changes in chemical labeling requirements and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). However, few staff members have recieved in-depth training on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

Our module covers essential GHS elements for dental practices, including SDS updates, pictograms, precautionary warnings, and physical hazard awareness. 

Educational Objectives:

At course completion, the attendee will be able to:

• Understand the development of the GHS
• Explain OSHA requirements concerning the GHS
• Identify hazardous chemicals 
• Recognize and interpret GHS labels and SDS
• Comprehend pictograms and signal words
• Compare OSHA, DOT, and CPSC adoptions of GHS
• Employ proper disposal techniques
