Course Description:
Smart Training's HIPAA 101 - Medical training module is HIPAA-certified. Employers are legally required to provide HIPAA-certified training to any employee that is exposed to Protected Health Information (PHI) on the job.
Many offices and employees still ignore patient privacy, but the Texas Medical Records Privacy Act took effect in late 2012. Violations of House Bill 300 can result in serious fines, jail sentences, and a revoking of your doctor's license.
HIPAA 101 - Medical ensures that team members comply with the law. It equips employees with information they need to safeguard PHI and avoid costly data breaches. It also gives them an understanding of the importance of HIPAA, as well as the consequences of breaking the law.
